What’s our story?

After flipping through this magazine or stalking our Instagram page, you have probably seen some version of this phrase multiple times. What does it mean? Why did I base an entire platform on a few small words?

If you’re asking yourself these questions, you’re probably one who needs to hear this phrase the most, because even within it’s seventeen letters and three spaces, it holds unspeakable meaning. What’s your story? Ask yourself that question. What’s the first thing that comes to your mind? I created Soul Talk for the sole (unintentional pun) purpose of creating a platform for young branching minds to flourish instead of wither, and they can do that by sharing their stories that sometimes go unnoticed.

For some, art is a release. It is one of the only things in the world with truly no boundaries, and even though we have to fit all of our work within 1063 pixels, I hope Soul Talk becomes a boundless opportunity and platform for at least one person. If we have created a safe and loving environment for just one, I would say that Soul Talk is successful, even though the concept of what I deem as success is only abstract. Everyone’s story matters individually, and I strive for Soul Talk to encourage people to understand that they deserve to take up space in this weird and sometimes twisted world.

Soul Talk Magazine is an independent digital and print magazine led by today's youth. We believe that everyone has a story to tell. Our goal is to highlight the work and thoughts in the mind that sometimes go unnoticed.

No matter your skill or profession level, your work is still valid. If you are interested in being featured in our upcoming issue, email soultalkmag@gmail.com with your submissions.
